A Crofton Tradition of Honor and Community Pride

As someone who loves calling Anne Arundel County home, I’m always inspired by how our community comes together to celebrate and support one another. One of the most heartwarming local traditions is the Kiwanis Foundation of Crofton’s Flags for Heroes program — a beautiful tribute to the veterans and first responders who give so much to keep us safe and strong.

This year, Crofton Kiwanis, with the support of the Crofton Civic Association, is once again organizing the Flags for Heroes display from November 1st to 15th, 2025. If you’ve driven down Route 3 at Lake Louise during this time in past years, you’ve seen the powerful sight — hundreds of American flags standing tall in honor of our heroes.

These dedication tags are affixed to the flagpole and serve as a meaningful way to recognize loved ones or local heroes. It’s a simple gesture that carries a powerful message of gratitude.

Proceeds from the program go directly to the Kiwanis Foundation of Crofton, Inc., a charitable organization that funds civic and community initiatives throughout our area. Your sponsorship may even be tax deductible — just be sure to check with your tax advisor.

Why This Event Matters
